• SMTown Singapore

After months and months of anticipation, SMTown is finally coming to Singapore on 23 November 2012. The third world tour and it is finally our turn. Y.E.A.H!

Luckily for me, I didn’t have to go through queuing at SISTIC counters or non-stop refreshing SISTIC website to get tickets online. I got my moshpit B ticket without sweat. Teehee~

It was so hard deciding which moshpit we wanted to be in. Seated tickets were not within our considerations because they were so far from the main stage. The concert venue is where Singapore holds its national day parade and this concert itself is selling 18,000 tickets in total. Go figure how big the venue is. It’s a must to be in the moshpit! It didn’t help when the concert organiser kept changing their seating plans, and added new seating to the very last minute.

Anyway all ends well. I’ve got the ticket I want. Now we’re just waiting for D-Day to arrive!

On a side note, I’m helping a korean friend change her moshpit A ticket to moshpit B. If there is anyone willing to trade, please drop me a note or email. Thanks!

  • I Don’t Care

Sometimes we find it so hard to please everyone. I still remember a project manager spoke to me during my previous employment, regarding my unsatisfactory work performance. She told me she couldn’t tell me what she wants exactly, because she doesn’t know, but hopefully I could read her mind one day. Of course I laughed it off back then because that statement was simply a reflection of the project manager’s fickle mind and poor leadership.

Now that time has passed and I could finally ponder on the matter calmly, I wonder why are there so many requests for me to read people’s minds, discuss on topics they find interest in, speak words they find pleasant to their ears. Do you get this kind of requests frequently?

People are so focus on themselves. If you don’t feel like seeing anything, walk away and hide yourself in a corner. If you don’t feel like hearing anything, cover your ears. Is this so hard?

Yet there are people who voice it out, expecting you to stop talking, stop appearing. For a single reason, they don’t like what’s happening. True enough there is no offense taken on their end, they just want things their way. Would I be requested to stop breathing one day?

    Selfish, I call it.

If I could do mind reading and character changing with a snap of fingers, I won’t be me. I would probably end up with the same character, same mindset or even same outfit with someone else. I am quite sure I would be hating myself when that happens.

So I have decided: I won’t compromise. Too bad if you got unhappy by my post and decided to explode your own brain with anger. (Shrugs) I don’t care.

Enough of mind reading talk, lets move on to happier events. I finally had all my studying done with uniSIM. I’m officially a graduate! Hooray! A convocation was held earlier this month and my whole family came. I’m a happy girl.

Pictures with my parents! I did have someone helped take a picture with both of them but the effect is totally awful. I don’t understand why someone standing at a tall height of at least 1.7m had to bend their knees to take pictures, and the focus of photo was on our thighs instead of our faces. =_=

My precious sister came too~ I know I don’t look very healthy in this picture. The truth is, my lips are still beyond dry and peeling. It’s gotten worst and spread to my skin around the lips too. I couldn’t let my lips look pinkish healthy at all and it resulted in me looking so pale.

Ending the post with a very small and unclear picture of me receiving the certificate. It was photoshopped to remove the logo from the photography studio. Very good skills I must applaud myself for XD And for the last time… …

    I’M A GRADUATE!!!!!!!!!

  • BigBang Alive in Singapore

What happens after editing close to 100 photos for a concert? You dream of them.

I dreamt of BigBang’s concert and how difficult it was to get hold of their tickets. I was rushing out of my house earlier on and I now can’t remember much of the dream. Damn!

I only recall it was raining very heavily in my dream. Thankfully I was already owner of tickets in my dream. Yet I see people vying for the tickets desperately. I even see people gliding on the floor, in the rain, because of a ticket. Don’t ask me why he did that. I have seriously no idea! The dream took place in a neighborhood I have no recollection of visiting in reality. Yet this neighborhood keeps appearing in my dreams lately. >”<

To see and hear rain falling symbolizes forgiveness and grace. Falling rain is also a metaphor for tears, crying and sadness. If you get wet from the rain, then it indicates cleaning from your troubles and problems.

To dream that you are in a competition represents your need to grow and expand. Learn the value of endurance and perseverance. You also need to be more assertive. Alternatively, the dream may reflect your anxiety about some real life competition that you are involved in.

To dream that you are in an unknown neighborhood signifies aspects of your subconscious. The dream may also parallel a waking situation which is new or unfamiliar to you. You are venturing into a brand new territory and it is making you slightly anxious and uneasy.

The last dream interpretation is freaking true! I am weighing my options on my future and throwing in all possible outcomes. Perhaps I’ll share more when I have a decision made.

Speaking of BigBang, I went for their Alive concert on 29 September 2012 at Singapore Indoor Stadium. My first time watching BigBang live performance was during the F1 concert in year 2011. This Alive is a full concert and should not be missed!

I must warn you though, there is a whole load of photos coming up. On a side note, please do not edit or remove logo from my photos. Thanks!

The concert started and we were screaming like hell in there. Originally I was slightly worried about TOP and Seungri’s mood because the former hurt his hand, and the latter just got involved in a scandal prior to the concert. It turned out my worries were uncalled for!

It was so hard trying to take a good photo of GD because he was dancing non-stop! Using a normal digital camera and having to zoom in from far, I wanted to give myself a pat on the back for this good quality photo. XD

Like what’s a BigBang concert without Taeyang stripping and showing off his masculine body right? My friend who attended concerts for both 28th and 29th September, mentioned Taeyang stripped more times during the 29th day. I must say our screaming worked. ㅋㅋㅋ

Daesung’s solo where he appeared with large wings and “flying” across the stadium. His vocal is so stable and strong, and his smile is bright like sunshine.

Compared to GD, Top is so much easier to capture on camera. He stood around a lot and observed the crowd with his hawk-liked-eyes. As the concert progress, I noticed he started to let himself loose gradually. Let the photos do the words.

There! Another segment already and Taeyang appeared with clothes originally. The lines on that back looking good. Heh~

I really like Seungri a lot. Though he’s the maknae of the group, he looks so wise for his age. So many times I looked at him and wonder what’s running in his head.

Everyone please give him a break from the scandal. I am glad his scandal is with a female! It only implies his sexual interest is normal. This is much better than having a scandal with a male right? Not that I think anything is wrong with it. Don’t get me wrong. Knowing he likes female only give me and other fangirls more room to fantasize about ourselves. (Giggles)

I’m not trying to be rude, but most of the times Daesung appeared on my camera without eyes opened. I find his small eyes cute though! I like people with single eyelids. Think Yesung from Super Junior, Dujun from Beast! And of course Seungri from BigBang!

Gummy smile Seungri capturing Daesung on Samsung S3 phone.

Someone threw a mask onto the stage and GD picked it up. Yups that’s GD alright. I was surprised he even rapped through the mask. LOL~

Fan event for BigBang and Seungri was so sweet to pick it up. Yes, thank you BigBang for the awesome night. I have no idea what GD was doing back there! Towards the end of the concert they were exhausted and were lying everywhere on the stage!

Here is Daesung’s failed attempt to cool the fans using his drinking water. It only make fangirls more excited!

TOP just got up from lying on the floor so his hood was up. Cute!

TOP suddenly picked up this red horn hairband and was struggling to put it on with his “crippled” right hand. Another member came over and helped him with it and he was so happy. Cute MAX!

The concert ended with a blast and me with sore throat from all the screaming. I was having regrets that I didn’t get the ticket for day 1 as well. Well, I guess regrets only contribute to future opportunities! BigBang please come Singapore again!!!

  • Taiwan Indie Pop

Right before I opened myself up to KPOP, I was very much into Taiwan Indie Pop. Not that I’m not into them anymore, the number of artists I’m looking out for has decreased over time. Some of the artists I still pin very high hopes on their music are 1976, Katncandix2, Mayday.

I used to be so head over heels with Wonfu and Cosmos People too. I even flew all the way to Kaohsiung for a 3D2N trip just to attend one of their concerts. Technically it was less than 3D2N if you add in the travelling time, 4 hours flight from SG to TPE and 2 hours on train from Taoyuan Airport to Kaohsiung.

My group photo with Wonfu, Cosmos People and Taiwan friends.

Over these years, these two groups have somehow evolved. Wonfu came up with album catering to children age group. Though I still bought their album and got autographs for them, I can’t really say I love their music as much anymore. For one, I don’t put their latest album on repeat mode now.

Cosmos People on the other hand had, half of their members (2 out of 4) went to army. Not that I couldn’t survive the short army wait, the band themselves couldn’t survive the army years. The band returned with only 2 remaining members out of the original 4.

I still recalled I had my first album signed and written with my name by Chen Wei Da, the bassist when they came Singapore to perform. He was my favorite member then. After which, he bid farewell to the band saying he wanted to focus on studies. Like I’d believe that. I did get a copy of note later, which he wrote to my Taiwan friends on his explanation. I can’t share the contents of the lengthy note though.

I moved on and accepted the band for what it is. The 1.5 album, as they called it, was signed by my second favorite member, drummer Wei Hong Bo. After releasing this 1.5 albums, 2 of the members went into army. And when they finally returned, the drummer too bid farewell. This time it gets even more absurd because no reason was given. He’s now acting in drama catered for children, by the way.

The Cosmos People is now made up of 3 members, of which I can’t remember the third member’s name. They got their 2nd album out and I haven’t placed order for them yet. I always joked that if I get another member to sign on my 2nd album, I’m afraid he’d leave the band too.

Anyway my friend went Taiwan for a trip earlier this year. She brought me gifts from my Taiwan friends whom I haven’t seen in two years.

A Kaohsiung magazine with many pages featuring Mayday.

The front cover of the magazine in case you wonder. Edition 9 of Kaohsiung Pictorial. I’m not sure if it’s still available on the shelves. Probably not?

Gogo Rock fan and postcard, a card from Katncandix2 concert in TICC. A very memorable concert as it marks their milestone. I’m still feeling sore from not being able to see my friends perform in TICC.

Wonfu concert stickers. I do have a lot of them in stock actually. ㅋㅋㅋ

Cosmos People stickers. This is very hard to collect because the band only scatters them to the crowds during concerts and autograph sessions. It is so hard to get a full set!

I hereby conclude, I love my Taiwan friends so much! It’s been so so so long since I visited Taiwan. I need to save money and make a trip soon… … …

  • Anipang 애니팡

I’m recently addicted to this new game on Android called Anipang 애니팡 (available on iPhone too). It’s like the new rave in Korea that even Korean artists are also playing.

Kang Sora who acted in movie “Sunny” and drama “Dream High 2” recently tweeted about the game too, stating that she needs “hearts”. So I guess I’m not the only one hooked on the game here. ㅋㅋㅋ

If you have a KakaoTalk account, the game will be able to record high scores. At the same time, it also displays your high scores from friends on your KakaoTalk. I must warn though, the game keeps sending messages to your KakaoTalk. I’ve yet found a way to stop the messages from coming through.

To play the game, simply match 3 or more animals of the same kind together horizontally or vertically. Each time, there are 5 hearts (lives) given to a player and every game lasts 60 seconds.

This printscreen indicates that I am at level 19, with another 44% more to level 20. I have two hearts at the moment, and another 5min 33sec to a new heart.  Each heart takes 8 minutes to load. If you ever run out of hearts and desperately wants to play, look out for the message icon on the bottom right with a number indicated. This printscreen means I have another 8 hearts in addition to the basic 5.

The highest score I have on my score board is 481, 386. Don’t ask me how he got that. I want that kinda score too! (Cries) To start the game, click “게임시작” meaning “Start Game”.

The animals are cute max right! @(o・ェ・o)@

Don’t worry if you can’t find 3 or more to align and got stuck at some point in the game, a hint will be given. The top bar when accumulated to full gives you a dark angry looking bomb. Activate by clicking on it, and it will clear the particular column and last row on the board. If you didn’t utilise this bomb by the end of the game, there will be a “Last Pang” where the bomb goes off and points are still given.

Some tips to get high scores, simply play the game at a high speed. When you combo enough, it will last for a few seconds of “bonus” killing. During this few seconds, whatever you align, those animals around it will disappear too. When you activate the bomb after a lot of combos, scores are higher.
Don’t gloat too much on your high scores because the high scores table gets cleared every week! XD
    Have fun with the game!
  • Jeju Island: Maze Land

In Jeju, there are various mazes such as Mirror Maze, Gimnyeong Maze Park, Maze Land. It took us some time to decide which one we wanted to go. A concern we had is the very limited time in Jeju Island we had, 2D1N to be exact. What if we got stuck in the maze for 6hours? We might have to forgo a tourist spot because of this. We then assured ourselves this wouldn’t happen due to our high IQ. LOL~

We then decided on Gimnyeong Maze Park (김녕미로공원) because there are platforms in the middle of the maze where you can climb up to take photos. To add on, the maze is in the shape of the Jeju Island!

Though we did well self-assuring, when the driver said to wait outside the maze for 1.5hours, we looked at each other and gulped. We ourselves were not convinced and didn’t really know what to expect.

We paid for the entrance fee and was given a map of the maze. The entrance sign welcomes us!

The maze was built in such a way that you can’t cheat by looking over or through the hedges.  I must admit it was a bit overwhelming initially because I felt lost. We decided not to rely on the map at all because it takes away the fun.

Things started to get interesting with the things we see. We managed to walk under a platform and a sign here wrote do not kiss in caps with exclamation mark. How cute is that!

In one of the dead ends, there is another sign in Korean 뽀뽀금지 meaning kissing forbidden. ㅋㅋㅋ

In another corner, a fake skeleton piece to scare the hell outta you. I think it would be so exciting to spend Halloween in a maze! Why do we not have mazes in Singapore?

We found one of the platforms and decided to take pictures like this. You wouldn’t know how hard these pictures came about. The photographer has to stay on the platform and shout out to me which corner to turn in order to capture an angle with me in it.

We found the right platform of the maze! There is a bell at the top of the platform where you can ring it to celebrate the moment. Ding Ding Ding Ding~~~~~

Look at the maze behind me! We conquered it! Heh~

On our way out, I was so delighted to find a post box. But I don’t think its functional so don’t drop any postcards or letters in there!

There are some topiary to be seen at the exit of the maze. Call me ignorant, but I’ve never seen so cute and pretty topiary in my life.

We ended the maze in less than 1.5hours. According to Korea Tourism Board, a rough estimation they indicated to complete the maze is half an hour. We spent a lot of time taking pictures, going back into the maze to take more pictures. We even ate corn dogs at the exit. So it kinda explains why we took such a long time to complete the maze. On the overall, the maze is really easy. We didn’t even utilise the maps to navigate. I guess I will probably explore Maze Land next, and it seems more challenging.

  • Merry is Married!

Alright, pun intended on the blog title. IKR… I am so witty! (Giggles)

Our dearest Merry got herself married on 26 May 2012. We were so happy for this little girl! She used to say she wanted to get married when she’s 24 years old. Though a little behind the plans, the plan is still well on the way! It’s a pity we didn’t get to be her sisters for the wedding though.

Pippin and I attended her church ceremony in the morning. We did scissors paper stone to decide who gets to stand beside Merry. I won!!!!! Muahahahahaha!

We didn’t turn up late, but we were rather early! We even got to see them do rehearsals. LOL~ The water retention on me was too serious early in the morning. I kinda give up trying to photoshop myself in the picture.

I must have said something to irritate the girls and garner such a response in the picture. I can’t recall anything at all. I’m always blabbering rubbish XD Even as I look at this picture, I wanna go “awwwwwwwwww~”. If only Frodo is with us too!

Pippin got a picture side by side with Merry too! Sweet~ Pippin, you’re strictly forbidden to crop the rest of us out!!!!!

This picture is much clearer  Loving the peeps though we don’t meet up often. I can’t believe we’ve known each other for 10 years now. OMG~ Please don’t ask about my age.

Ending this post with a love love selca of Pippin and Sam. My selca skills just got better with my Samsung Galaxy Note ♡o。.(✿ฺ。 ✿ฺ)

  • Tiong Bahru Bakery

I finally escaped out from home to meet up with friend today. The past few weeks was like cold turkey to curb my shopping addiction and bad habit of dining at restaurants. The moment I unleash, I’m back to leading a tai-tai life. (Facepalm)

After lunch at Sushi Express, my friend and I headed for the newly opened Tiong Bahru Bakery located at basement of Raffles City.

This cute menu greeted us at the door. Milk, foam, coffee and expresso shots all illustrated. I ordered a cup of Magic (which is coffee with milk) and a croissant.

How many cafes in Singapore actually do latte art? I don’t really come across them a lot, so I’m impressed with my cup of coffee!  The croissant is really very good, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Even though I ate at such a slow pace and the croissant was turning cold towards the end, I’m still satisfied to the very last bite of it.

There are so much bread, tart and sandwich choices to choose from at the counter. I can’t wait to visit again!

  • Grandma’s Birthday

It was my Grandma’s birthday yesterday. The entire family paid her a visit and celebrate the day with her. A lot of my aunts and uncles finally managed to see my sister for the longest time. I wasn’t feeling very well the whole of yesterday but still decided to go. Luckily I made that decision! The entire family went and I can’t imagine what awful things they would say if I hadn’t go.
My sister snapped this photo when none of us noticed. I look so unglam here. LOL~ Kids in this picture was only a fraction of the grandchildren. My grandma gave birth to 7 children, and all of them have at least 1kid. You can imagine the number of grandchildren there yesterday. Even my younger cousin’s girlfriend was there.

    My happy grandma here

My aunt made the cheesecake you see in the picture. Friends around me would know I don’t take cheesecake. I feel like puking whenever I eat cheesecake. I don’t know why but my body simply rejects this particular favor in my system.

My aunts was ordering everyone to eat it yesterday, commenting that we have to regardless whether we like it. Of course I am aware and thankful of her efforts for making the cake, it looks delicious. But my taste buds simply refuse to acknowledge that, what can I do? There’s nothing I could do but to gulp it down. If I hadn’t, they would make judgements like being rude because I’m afraid of getting fat. I don’t want to go through swallowing back own vomit again. ㅠㅠ

Such a tiring day yesterday. Fighting the cramps in my stomach, forcing a smile on my face and acting like I’m enjoying everyone asking me about my job. Why do people judge based on your career and the monetary values it brings you? If you have a career that brings good money, they assume you are happy. If not, they assume you’re simply wasting your life away. Yet never once, they ask “Are you happy?”

Sometimes friends are better than distant relatives because they think before they judge. They look at you at the same level, and not put you down. Your joke is laughed off because it is meant to be, and not being chided for not knowing where you stand in the family hierarchy.

Perhaps one day I could learn to laugh off my distant relatives’ impaired judgement too.

  • Milestone!

I just recently opened up this blog not long ago, slightly more than 1month to be exact. If you have the patience to scroll through my entries right from the start, good for you! You might notice that it goes back all the way to March 2011.

Hey, I’m not lying when I said this blog was opened a month ago!

The entries prior to September 2012 were all written in my Livejournal blog. I merely migrated them over. I took the time to even edit the time and date of the articles to exactly when I’ve written them. The painstaking efforts (Sniffs)…

Anyway I stepped in my blog today, wondering if I should just add a random entry and voila! I am the 1000th visitor of my own blog (Throws Confetti)!

It only me a month to build up 1000 visits, I hope the future visit milestones will get even more promising. Heh~

Thank you everyone who have visited my blog!!!
