• Nightmare (?)

Yet another dream again last night. SMTown just ended and I dreamt of Yesung. In my dream, he was getting married and his wife was 1 year older than him. I could totally feel how much he loved her in my dream. Someone asked him to rate how compatible he and his wife was, he rated 100%.

Waking up from a Yesung dream, I couldn’t really feel happiness. I know he’d get married eventually and I will of course give my blessings and wish him happiness. I just secretly wish the day won’t come so soon.

  • S.M Entertainment

It is now customary that I will pay S.M Entertainment at least one visit, every time I visit Seoul. The surprises you get of not knowing who you will meet there is exhilarating. Like I mentioned earlier, artists I’ve met so far include Girls Generation (SooYoung Yoona Sunny Jessica Hyoyeon Taeyeon…etc) and DBSK (Yunho).

Today, I’m going to share on how to go to S.M Entertainment! Before you rejoice, I must first warn you how far the building is from the subway station. My pictures are all screenshots using Google Map so no complaints on the quality of the pictures please.

Take subway line 3 and alight at Apgujeong Station, exit 2. Turn and walk in the opposite direction of the exit. Turn right around KEB Private Bank.

From here onwards, it is endless walking straight. The following are some shops you will pass by.

Continue walking straight and you will see a big cross-intersection. Cross the road and you will reach a gas station S-OIL.

    Continue walking straight.

Keep walking until you see The Galleria. Cross the road to The Galleria and continue walking in the same direction you were walking in.

You will pass by Louis Vuitton. Cross the road and keep walking straight.

Continue walking straight until you see the S.M Entertainment building!

The middle panel was renovated and newly added words “SMTown”. It lits up at night and this is how it looks like.

Hope this guide is useful in helping you reach S.M Entertainment and meet dazzling world stars!

If you happen to see any artists, please don’t take photographs, scream or cause any inconvenience to them. I can’t guarantee you won’t be chased away by the ahjussi security.

  • CSHH and Thieves Market

Singapore is always developing and evolving at such a high speed. There were times when I left Singapore for a 2 weeks vacation, returned surprised that I could hardly recognize some parts of Orchard Road. Old buildings scraped, making way for new buildings and businesses.

We heard Thieves Market at Sungei Road will be closing down soon. This flea market has been around since 1930s and will soon step into history. My friends and I decided to make a trip before it enter past tense phase.

Before we do that, of course we had to fill our stomachs first! It was my first time visiting Chye Seng Huat Hardware (CSHH). If it wasn’t for my friend, I wouldn’t have known such a place existed behind the big metal doors of the building.

Banana Cake tasted not bad, quite fluffy. Of course the quality can’t be compared to those of Paris Baguette.

My almond croissant was a bit too hard for my liking. I couldn’t cut my knife through it without threatening to shake and bring down the entire table. It was impossible to share this piece of croissant with my friends. Ended up I had to pick up the whole piece and bite. I’m not sure if this is the ideal taste they wanted their customers to have.

My friend’s espresso with milk tasted alright. At least better than my daily brew.

My daily brew is by far the most awful coffee I ever had, and I think it is way too overpriced for the quality. I did a search online and it seemed that everyone is complaining it is too sour for anyone’s liking. Okay probably not everyone but there’s a handful! Or maybe I simply don’t know how to appreciate (Shrugs). On a side note, the presentation of the drink is cute!

My friend ordered a ham omelette with mushrooms and it took more than half an hour to arrive. When we enquired why the omelette was taking so long, the staff simply replied “There is a lot of customers.” Seriously?

I’ll be frank here that I don’t think the entire CSHH is so big that we needed to wait more than half an hour for an omelette. How long do you need to whip up an omelette?! In addition, where’s the sympathetic apology we should be hearing due to the long wait? The staff doesn’t even bother to help check our order and expect us to continue waiting endlessly.

Only when we approached the second staff, we got an answer as to why the long wait. The staff had mixed up our orders. There! This is the reasonable explanation! I nearly dropped tears of comfort when I heard the second staff say “sorry” to us.

So no photos taken for the omelette. My friend was too hungry and we were in no mood to take photos anymore.

Both food and drink were acceptable in terms of taste, nothing fantastic. Service was awful. I’m not sure if I wanna give it another chance.

After this not-so-fantastic brunch we had, we headed off to Thieves Market under the glaring sun.

As it is a flea market, items were spread out on the floor without price tags. Feel free to look and touch the items. If you are interested, then ask the price. You can also try price slashing with the seller if you think prices are too high.

As you can see there were all kinds of items on sales. Watches, spectacles, soft toys, shoes… etc

The old phones we used to have before all the smart phone devices appeared. So nostalgic!

The kind of phone every household used to have. Now that everyone has at least a mobile phone, my house doesn’t even own house lines anymore.

We used to own one typewriter too! Mistakes were irreversible with typewriters. There used to be “pen erasers” used to “erase” the words we typed wrongly on paper. All the erasers do was to damage the surface of the paper so that words were illegible and we typed new words over it. Awwww~ Good old memories!

This friendly uncle was selling old graduation photographs of kindergarden kids.

My friend took the opportunity to ask more questions. It seemed like none of them was aware when exactly they would be ask to leave. They pass every single day as though it is going to be the last.

Ending the post with my favorite photo of the day.

An advice to the people who intend to visit the Thieves Market, please be careful of your personal belongings.  Do make a trip before this part of Singapore enters into history too!

  • 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken

I was craving badly for Korean fried chicken the other day and my friend brought me to this store: 4 Fingers. I was quite skeptical initially because Korean fried chicken is way too delicious and yummy, nothing like those you can find in Singapore.

I was delighted when I saw the interior of the store! I mean everyone thinks of KFC in Singapore when you talk about fried chicken right? Compare the interior design of this popular food chain and 4 Fingers. Weren’t you in for a surprise too?

After you placed your order at the counter and paid, this round device will be given to you. You can bring this to your seat and wait for your food to be prepared. Once the food is ready to be served, your device will vibrate and you can collect your food at the counter. This is exactly how most of the cafes and fastfood chains operate in Korea!

Anyway there is this message on the drink that politely ask customers to refrain from sharing the goodness of 4 Fingers. Oh… I simply couldn’t resist myself! Sorry 4 Fingers!

And the very yummy fried chicken arrived! We ordered mixture of spicy and non-spicy chicken and I couldn’t really differentiate them from the looks of it. Since both are equally delicious and I like them all, it is no problem for me!

On the overall, I was very satisfied with my meal and the service. Luckily my friend pulled me to the store once they were opened for business. As soon as the clock strikes 12pm on a weekday afternoon, there were long queues at the counter. Everyone please go try! Teehee~

  • Dream away into reality, I hope

I can’t believe I dreamt so much that day… … Took me such a long time to pen down my thoughts. Just a telephone interview and it has so much impact on me. Breathe… …

I dreamt that I was super excited to go on a roller coaster that has very drastic drops at high velocity. However after we go though the most exciting part of the drop, the roller coaster was stopped by someone on the ride.  We returned to the original start point and went through the ride again. This happened for a total of 3 times. I still remembered when it finally go through the entire ride, I felt so free and happy.

To dream that you are riding a roller coaster represents life’s frequent ups and downs in your waking life. You are experiencing erratic behavior brought on by yourself or a situation.

After the ride, I was making my way home, SM Entertainment. I used inflated balloons to help me fly across the places so I didn’t have to walk. Everyone was doing that until the balloons started to deflate and started snatching each others’ balloons. I protected my three sapphire blue balloons well. Not long after, i had to start walking too because balloons were fully deflated.

Having difficulties staying in flight indicates a lack of power in controlling your own circumstances. You may be struggling to stay aloft or stay on set course. Things like power lines, trees, or mountains may be obstacles that you encounter in flight. These obstacles symbolize something or someone who is standing in your way in your waking life. You need to identify what or who is trying to prevent you from moving forward. Difficulty flying may also be an indication of a lack of confidence or some hesitation on your part. You need to believe in yourself and not be afraid.

I was following some men on the dark streets because there were men eating people. I followed closely until I remembered I have to cross to another town in order to reach my destination. I recalled the routes from my previous dreams (same venue that keeps coming back to me). Before I left the town, a small girl approached me and asked for clothes I was holding in my hands. I chose a penguin design and asked if she liked it. She was so touched that she cried.

To see someone else crying in your dream may be a projection of your own feelings onto someone else. If you do not cry in your waking life, then seeing someone else cry may be a little easier to deal with then seeing yourself cry.

Next dream,  I was in Taiwan. Though originally planned to be in Taipei for 3D2N, I somehow only spent my first night in Kaohsiung. I was in Taipei on the second day and suddenly remembered to check my air ticket back. It seems like I had to take the night flight that very day. I panicked and checked in at the airport. The airport staff enquired if I have a luggage which I did, but it was at the hotel. The airport staff told me I had to come back to check in luggage within 15min. I hurried off on subway to get my luggage and ended up taking different route from the one I was supposed to. As time goes by, I even forgot I had a flight to catch. I was happily shoes shoppings on Xi Men Ding. The next day, I finally realised I missed the flight and was trying to call Jetstar customer service hotline desperately.

To dream that you are late signifies your fear of change and your ambivalence about seizing an opportunity. You may feel unready, unworthy, or unsupported in your current circumstances. Additionally, you may be overwhelmed or conflicted with decisions about your future. Time is running out and you no longer have time to accomplish all the things you want.

This blog is turning more into my dream log.

  • Paris Baguette Cafe

I must begin my post with a scream! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

SMTown tickets are in! Woohooooooooo! Can you sense my exhilaration? I can’t wait for 23 November! (Calms self down)

My friend gave me a birthday treat at Paris Baguette a few days ago. Yes I am still celebrating my birthday after two months. I’m so loved! Kekekeke~

Speaking of Paris Baguette, I’ve been to the one in Korea, but haven’t tried it since it opened in Singapore. Paris Baguette in Korea is really good and cheap! Prices go a little steep in Singapore, but I can tell you it’s every bit worth the price.

For someone who doesn’t take strawberry flavored food, I was skeptical about this cake initially. Since my friend bought this for me, I must give it a try. I was glad I did! The cake is so fluffy and basically melts in your mouth. Most importantly, it doesn’t have the artificial strawberry taste.

And this chocolate danish is yums max too! Not too sweet and the crust is crispy.

I ordered one of their bestsellers off their all-day-breakfast menu. The wedges come with a very special sauce and I can’t really pinpoint the ingredients. I’m guessing they mix tobasco in the sauce. The wedges taste really potato-ish and the bread here is very soft.

My kiwi orange drink tasted perfect. The pulps of the kiwi just comes up whenever I take a sip. It neutralises the drink and it is so refreshing.

I went on a friday afternoon and the queue at the counter never stopped while I was there. I’m glad their business is surviving well. I must make another trip soon to try their croissant. I heard it’s even better than Tiong Bahru Bakery!
