• Super Show 6 Encore

The second day started off with sundae soup at 마포소문난족발순대국, near our guesthouse. I’d lose my voice if I consume spicy food in the morning, so I ordered a non-spicy one. Surprisingly, the non-spicy sundae soup also tasted awesome! I guess we came to the right store.

    20150711_1132581 20150711_1134211

This place seems famous with the pictures of broadcasting stations hanging on the wall.

    20150711_113356120150711_1138171

The photo below isn’t blur, by the way. The steam from the pipping hot sundae soup blurs out the ingredients. The sliced meat pieces were soft and chewy. The glutinous rice steamed to perfection. I couldn’t get enough of the tasty soup.

With our bellies filled to the brim, we headed out to SM TOWN at Coex Artium.  Every level has different purpose. For example, one level is celebrity shop where we can buy all sorts of artists merchandise, another level is a theatre for audiences to enjoy holographic and live performances.

It’s funny how beside every photo/poster/banner of Siwon, there’s his signature right beside. He’s the only one who has signed against all his faces that appeared in the building. LOL~

    20150711_141015120150711_1408581

We decided to rest our feet at the cafe. Ordered a blue lemonade that was contained in a Mamacita bottle. You can bring this bottle home with you! It’s a good souvenir for myself, I’d say. The Super Show 6 badge as seen below was given out with every encore concert ticket shown.

    pic_shot_14365898494831

And this is how my tickets looked like. Both days standing in mosh pit. Who am I trying to prove that I’m still going strong at my age. The Mosh D pit on second day was beyond squeezy. I shudder at the thought of it… ….

    20150711_135938120150712_1218451

Finally the planned highlight of my trip – Super Show 6 Encore concert. The first stage where Kim Jongwoon returns as Yesung, singing on his home ground. You can’t imagine my anticipation and excitement for this.

SM Entertainment finally decided to change the base of the lightstick so I had to get another one. The previous version was so fragile that I have never used it before. Friends who used the previous version all broke the handle part before the concert could come to an end.

When attending Super Junior concerts in Korea, and you’re only planning to purchase the lightstick and nothing else, there is a separate queue at the merchandise counter. More efficient and everyone gets to wave the right lightstick during the concert.

    20150711_1601101

Day 02 of the concert was raining heavily. Luckily, the guesthouse lent out umbrellas! Even the rain couldn’t dampen my high spirit for the concert.

    20150712_1433481

After concert ended, we finally sat down for the second meal of the day: Bossam (보쌈). Wrapping the pork slices in vegetables, along with kimchi is heavenly, especially after hours of enduring hunger.

    20150712_2117532

During the concert, I was enjoying myself and grinning like a fool whenever I see Yesung on stage. Photos were only taken using my handphone at the end of the concert.

I’m glad I made the right decision to attend this concert. When would the next Super Show be held? I hope it isn’t going to be a long wait.

  • Continuing… July is Seoul Wonderful

The first day in Korea was indeed a busy day. Meeting with different people to pick up and exchange tickets for our Super Junior 6 Encore Concert.

We headed on to Chocolat BonBon, opened by Super Junior member Eunhyuk. A small and cozy cafe. Eunhyuk’s mum was there as a cashier when I visited. Glad to see customers other than fangirls visiting the cafe. It’s a sign that cafe is well accepted by public, isn’t it?

    DSCF14191 DSCF14211 DSCF14221

We stayed for a while before hopping on a cab to the MOM House, a guesthouse in Myeongdong, opened by another Super Junior member Kyuhyun. The cab ride was so comfortable that I fell asleep beside the driver. It was a long long ride. Hooray to cheap cab fare in Korea! MOM guesthouse level 1 lobby was filled with fans when we arrived. Saw Kyuhyun’s dad making his round the guesthouse grinning at all the fans who met his eyes, and Kyuhyun’s mum mingling with fans she was familiar with. Occasionally hitting those familiar fans with her fist, and boy it hurts. That’s her way of showing her affection ^^

Kyuhyun’s mom walked over with a foreign fan and asked one of my friends to help her translate the letter. It was a fan letter to Kyuhyun. The foreign fan’s face was flushing red when the letter was translated to the mom. When letter was fully translated, Kyuhyun’s mom hugged the fan and said “I got it all now. I’ll pass this letter on to him. I fully understand now.” Haha~ So cute!

Made our way to the top level where there’s a sky garden. There’s even a BBQ pit. I wanted to take a photo of the beautiful place, but Kyuhyun’s dad saw us first and waved affectionately til we turned to leave. We were just giggling embarrassingly all the way until we stepped into the lift. I only managed to capture this post box below where fans can leave your letters in here and you can be sure the letters will reach the artist’s hands.

    20150710_190238

As you can see, there are ways to pass your letters and gifts to the artists, as long as artists has family owned cafes, restaurants or shops. And going via this route, you can be sure the letters and gifts will definitely reach the artists. Alternatively, you can always pass the letters and gifts to the artists’ companies.

BEAST is coming to Singapore for fan meet next month. The fan site in Singapore is organising a donation drive for fans to contribute to fan projects. As long as money contributed is between $10 – $19, they will give you a Thank You card and help deliver your letter to BEAST. Putting the Thank You card aside, because we all really ought to be thanked for, as even the minimal contribution of $10 can buy us so many meals. There is a small hashtag indicated on the notice that states they will try their best to convey your heartfelt messages to the boys. In another words, there is no guarantee that your letters will even reach the members. If you are planning to make a trip to Korea yourself, I will suggest passing the letters yourself. At least you can be sure the letter you painstakingly wrote, is not going to end up in a rubbish bin in Singapore. Of course, if you are going to contribute to the fan projects regardless of the gifts, do go ahead. I’m just stating the obvious for those who are pinning high hopes along with the $10 – $19 they are putting in.

Back to my first day in Korea! A Korean friend brought us to dinner at 차들박힌 쭈꾸미, where we had spicy octopus. There was this long wait that it was probably an hour before 4 of us get seated. The meat and spicy octopus is good, but I still prefer the one I ate in Guri though (will post about this when I go again). The octopus is so spicy that towards the end, I couldn’t take another bite without cheese to neutralise the spiciness. It was a satisfying meal to end the night.

    20150710_2045101 20150710_2049181

A very fulfilling and tiring day, I’d say. After 24hours of nearly no sleep, I sinked into my bed and slept well. Next post: Concert day, a day I looked forward to so badly. Stay tuned folks!

  • Hong Kong and Macau: Super Show 6

When I thought I would missed Super Junior’s Super Show 6 concert because their tour was almost coming to an end and there seemed to be no news of anyone bringing the show to Singapore, I made a decision to fly to Macau to attend the concert. I have started attending Super Show since their third tour, Super Show 3, and I didn’t want to miss out on Super Show 6, with or without my bias.

Their concert was on a Sunday, but my friend could only embark on the trip on Sunday itself. Hence my plan was to head over to Hong Kong to play for a day, then meet my friend in Macau on Sunday, and finally homeward bound on Monday. It was going to be 3 different countries in a span of 3 days! How exhilarating!

My previous passport was one of 10-year lifespan. It was old and crumbly especially since I didn’t use a passport cover during my cabin crew days. I recently (finally) changed to the new one that can only last for 5 years. It’s my first time bringing the new passport out!

I don’t know why but both Hong Kong and Macau doesn’t do the passport stamp anymore! They just gave me pieces of papers. I go through Singapore immigration through the thumbprint biometric scan, so no passport stamp either. After visiting 2 countries, I still have my passport looking as good as new! But… … I want to collect the different passport stamps! (Wailing)

Bah… Coming back to the topic! I didn’t manage to get cheap air ticket to fly directly to Hong Kong, so it was flight to Macau followed by a ferry ride to Hong Kong. Boarding at 5.35am is seriously an unearthly hour. I guess it’s probably why I fell sick the moment I reached Hong Kong. Lack of sleep and under clothed from the wind.

First time taking a ferry to Hong Kong. Of course it was! It was after all, the first time I stepped foot in Macau. Haha! The ferry was an hour ride and the rocking motion sent me into deep sleep almost immediately, if not for the other rowdy passengers on board the ferry. I’d highly recommend bringing ear plugs. Both my ferry rides to and fro were filled with passengers who had to shout instead of talk. Deafening.

My Hong Kong friend who is ever so kind to always put me up at her house! And I get to go play with her cat each time I visit. The adorable thing who only wants to play! I miss the cat already… … … … …

It was a pleasant trip and I managed to meet up with some friends whom I haven’t seen for a long time. I kept making a mental note to take pictures with those peeps but it just gradually slipped my mind. I guess my mind was more like gradually slipping into a coma from the flu medication I was on. Oopsie! I’m sure it’s not going to be the last time I’m gonna visit Hong Kong. Though the next time I visit, I will probably look older in photos T^T

The view from my hotel room in Macau is awesome.

And the room is awesome as well! If given a chance to visit Macau again, I’m quite sure I’ll return to this Venetian Hotel for stay. There’s a living room separated from the bedroom, 1 television at each side. The lavatory is also separated from the shower. Facilities suited for your needs if your travel mate is known to hog the shower room for ages. A lot of girls are guilty of this heh~

My ticket for the concert! Highlight of the trip!

Shindong has left for army, leaving only 9 members on stage in total.

Pardon me for my ghastly pale face. My flu was getting from bad to worst. The place where we were queuing had awful ventilation.

Next up is photos spam from the concert itself! If you are ever going to lift my pictures to post elsewhere, please credit!

I am so loving this series where KangTeuk came to give us love

The last solo photo I took of him before he left for army.

Heenim is giving his love as well

    The ending thumb kiss~

After the concert ended, we were so tired and returned to our hotel for room service. The first time I tried ordering room service in a hotel! (Another first!) Just after our shower, the food arrived. Nice timing!

The next morning, the one and only item on our itinerary for the entire trip: Macau Tower!

233m above the ground is VERY windy. I can’t even tuck my fringe behind my ears, hair flying all over the place.

See how good we look from above! (Pun Intended) (233m from above the ground = Camera from above. Geddit?) Hahahaha~

The walk took us approximately half an hour. Totally dig this. The employee told us they are coming to Singapore soon! I was cracking my head on the possible places they can do this, and I could only think of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. Can’t wait for them to come. (Rubs hands in glee)

  • Full of Anticipation: May

In a glimpse of eye, we’ve entered May! A month I’ve so looked forward to. There was Super Show 6 concert in Singapore, right on the first day of May. I thought this day would never come, so I decided to attend Super Show 6 concert in Macau. This is another story, gonna be in my next post.

To my delight, all the members were in such a good mood. To think the last time I saw the entire Super Junior in such a good mood was MAMA held in Singapore on 29 November 2011. So many years ago! I didn’t take a single photo during the concert in Singapore and enjoyed myself thoroughly. Everything is captured through my eyes, imprinted on my heart.

A mandatory selca to end the night at the moshpit with my friend. I’m glad she managed to take some good photos with my shielding from the security!

Dinner was at Bugis after much contemplation. A very satisfying meal with the gang, and some new friends I made.

Coming back to the topic of how awesome May is, 05 May is a public holiday in Korea because it is their Children’s Day! How awesome that even adults get to celebrate Children’s Day! Never lose the child in us ^-^

Children’s Day in Korea this year, also marks the last day of army duty of Yesung, my bias in Super Junior. Because it is a public holiday on 05 May, he gets to be released from service one day earlier! No longer just Kim Jongwoon, he’s finally assuming back the identity of Yesung – the voice that melts my heart. Because of his return, a plan is brewing. Hopefully there are some confirmed news and my plan would fall nicely into place.

  • April Korea Trip Continues… …

I recalled my trip to Korea last year April was actually the first time I went to Mouse Rabbit, the cafe opened by Super Junior member, Yesung. That’s right, my bias. Everyone has been raving about the cafe because Yesung was there most of the time, and the awesome fan service he gave by taking your orders over the counter. You get to talk to him and shake his hand even. Talk about up close and personal interaction!

There at the nearest subway station, Konkuk University subway station, there was a banner congratulating another Super Junior member, Hyukjae’s birthday. Coincidentally it was his birthday month. Putting up advertisements in subway stations by fansites is actually a norm in Korea. It may be expensive, but it goes to show how much fans are willing to go for their idols.

Mouse Rabbit exterior doesn’t look like this anymore, though. They removed the windows of the outdoor area you see below, and added railings. It’s going to be cold and chilling sitting out here in the winter. I recalled us talking to Yesung’s dad about our concern of sitting here during rainy season. He explained to us patiently that they had to remove the windows due to regulations, and nothing much they could do about it.

Breakfast alone at the quiet Mouse Rabbit is pure bliss. Sweet potato cake and black tea latte. I miss these 2 items so much… … … Even the serviettes design has changed.

Wearing my newly bought 574 New Balance that unfortunately gave me aching legs because I bought a size too small. I love this design so much and everywhere doesn’t have my size. Cries! This pair is now belonging to my mother. And so, my mum now has couple sneakers with my Yoseob my Beast! Humph!

Chanced upon this advertisement at Myeongdong subway station. Couldn’t hide my excitement because I was going to be part of this.

Attempted to get our SIM card in Hongdae and failed due to new regulations in place. Foreigners are no longer allowed to apply for SIM card from the 3 main telcos in Korea: SK Telecom, KT and LG U+. Bad news for us having to enter music broadcasting shows. Had to treat ourselves to a good lunch for the dejection we were feeling. Korean Black Bean Sauce Noodles (Jajangmyeon) and spicy seafood noodle soup (Jjampong). The seafood noodle soup isn’t spicy at all!

On the side, we also added sweet and sour pork (탕수육) but I’m too embarrassed to paste the photo in here. We poured the sweet and sour sauce over the pork. What were we thinking! We should have dipped the pork into the sauce to preserve the crunchiness of the meat. How could we make such a fatal mistake (shakes index finger).

Craving for icy cold cider in this hot weather.

And craving ever so badly for this grilled pork intestine (곱창구이). Chanced upon this shop (강남곱창이야기) in Myeongdong and it happened to be the filming site for drama Reply 1997!

Ending this post with a random selca taken during the same trip. One of those times I was alone in Mouse Rabbit, waiting for Yesung to arrive.

  • Happy New Year!!!!!

Hello everyone in year 2013! It’s a brand new year, a brand new start! I’m getting hyped up because the year has started off so well and I hope it only gets better! (Greedy Mode) In the meantime, it’s us getting used to writing dates starting or ending with “13”! Heh~

The SMTown post I promised is finally here! It was such a tiring day but I enjoyed myself so much! The night before the concert, my friend and I actually went to peep at their rehearsal from the helix bridge. The concert organiser thought of it too so they actually put up nets to block the view from helix bridge. Luckily I brought binoculars! We saw f(x), EXO and SNSD rehearsed that night.

I arrived at the concert venue very early the next morning. We queued for SMTown Passport redemption and concert merchandise. The moshpit I was in did not need require queuing because very little tickets were released for my area.

The sun was too glaring and everyone had their umbrellas and fans out. We left the concert venue and found places to eat and chill after all the stuff we needed to get. The sky started turning very dark and rained heavily with thunder. I am so glad we were in the comfort of Starbucks when all that happened. I was already sick before I went for the concert, down with a heavy flu and fever. I needed all the rest I could get and caffein to perk me up.

Concert was scheduled to start at 6.30pm and we arrived at around 6.40pm. The sky heard our pleas and rain finally stopped. Our moshpit was so empty that I could easily stand first row if I wanted. We’d prefer running around the moshpit though, only squeezing to the front when there are artists we wanted to see.

Security on photo taking was exceptionally strict. I couldn’t capture a single photo throughout. At the same time, I have my eyes glued to the artists all the time! There were no cameras above our heads hindering our view. I do enjoy watching concerts like this!

I must flail at how up-close and personal we were with the artists. D.O from EXO-K was squatting down in front of me. The girls in front of me were screaming non stop because he was so closed that we could even shake hands. He didn’t shook our hands of course. But he heard the screams and turned, looked into our eyes, smile and wave at us. (Melts) I am not really a EXO fan, but I do like D.O and acknowledge his singing. I would say he’s my favorite out of the group. Kekekekeke~

Yesung, my bias if anyone of you doesn’t know yet, was standing in front of us singing. He could run around but he chose to stand in front of me and sang the remaining of the song. He bent very close to us, saw my fan board and smirked. This is the second time he looks at me directly, into my eyes!!!!! (Jelly Feet) During the final song HOPE where all of the artists came on stage, he threw a soft toy at me, makes sure I got it safely, smirked and left. (DEAD o<-<) How sweet can he get? (Sobs)

    종운오빠 넘 고마워요 ㅠㅠ

We only managed to take out our cameras to snap during the last song. Hence I got very limited photos and most of all, I was busy looking at Yesung with my eyes that I didn’t take a single photo of him.

Oh! I must share a side story! During the song Hope, Yesung wanted to drink from a bottle of mineral water. He happened to turn and saw Sooyoung from SNSD. With that mischievous look on his face, he motioned to spray it on Sooyoung. Sooyoung gave a very timid look and shake her head in fear. Yesung happily smirked and drank the water. Awwwwwwwwwww~~~~ CUTE MAX!!!!!!

    Okay, photos now…

I couldn’t remember what they saw. Someone must be threatening to spray water on Tiffany that she got so scared, clinging on to Kangta.

I’m sorry Kyuhyun… His derp face was too precious not to share XD

Okay okay let me give Kyuhyun back his justice. A photo of him biting his lips.

It started raining and thundering again during BoA’s “Only One” stage. Everyone was busy fishing out their raincoats and hardly had time to look at the performance when Sehun from EXO came out. Everyone I knew missed almost the entire Sehun dance, including me. 囧 The rain was so heavy that I think I would enjoy the water flow better than the shower hose in my house.

There’s something I must point out though. I wish the SNSD fan boys could bring raincoats instead of their umbrellas. They were tall enough blocking the view of people behind, and with their umbrellas, no one could see anything beyond them! Please be considerate!!!!!!!!!!

Donghae was wet from the rain. Look at those arms~ (Swoons) Yes I know there are people who wants to see Xiumin from EXO too! Here you go!

How happy was he looking at the fireworks? LOL!

And now, lets focus back on Super Junior! Sungminnie~

Sungminnie giving a pat on the back for Lay from EXO. He’s bending slightly to his sunbae!

    Awwwwwww~ Sungminnie

Sungminnie and Sunny looking at each other.

Eunhyuk pushing Kyuhyun down beside him and not allowing him up. Kyuhyun was pushed til his knees were bent. Kekekeke~

Eunhyuk’s almost 180 degrees bow. Awwww~ The group I idolize is so precious.

    Our Eunhyuk’s armpit ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

So many artists yet our boys are always the last on stage, giving their bows to their fans. They are forever so humble and thankful to ELF for their success. Loves max~ The final thumb kiss moments

We enjoyed ourselves so much during the concert!

    즐거운 시간을 보냈어요! 모든여러분 수고하셨습니다!!!!!!
    꼭 다시 오세요~

  • Nightmare (?)

Yet another dream again last night. SMTown just ended and I dreamt of Yesung. In my dream, he was getting married and his wife was 1 year older than him. I could totally feel how much he loved her in my dream. Someone asked him to rate how compatible he and his wife was, he rated 100%.

Waking up from a Yesung dream, I couldn’t really feel happiness. I know he’d get married eventually and I will of course give my blessings and wish him happiness. I just secretly wish the day won’t come so soon.

Random thoughts of a fan girl ☁

  • SMTown Singapore

After months and months of anticipation, SMTown is finally coming to Singapore on 23 November 2012. The third world tour and it is finally our turn. Y.E.A.H!

Luckily for me, I didn’t have to go through queuing at SISTIC counters or non-stop refreshing SISTIC website to get tickets online. I got my moshpit B ticket without sweat. Teehee~

It was so hard deciding which moshpit we wanted to be in. Seated tickets were not within our considerations because they were so far from the main stage. The concert venue is where Singapore holds its national day parade and this concert itself is selling 18,000 tickets in total. Go figure how big the venue is. It’s a must to be in the moshpit! It didn’t help when the concert organiser kept changing their seating plans, and added new seating to the very last minute.

Anyway all ends well. I’ve got the ticket I want. Now we’re just waiting for D-Day to arrive!

On a side note, I’m helping a korean friend change her moshpit A ticket to moshpit B. If there is anyone willing to trade, please drop me a note or email. Thanks!

I dreamt of Yesung on Tuesday night!
But I couldn’t remember any details there after
I even woke up in the middle of the night and tried to recall the dream
Satisfied with myself on the result, then drift back into sleep
I knew I was even smiling to myself (Facepalm
    Argh!

My dream on wednesday night wasn’t too well
To dream that you are late signifies your fear of change and your ambivalence about seizing an opportunity.
You may feel unready, unworthy, or unsupported in your current circumstances.
Additionally, you may be overwhelmed or conflicted with decisions about your future.
Time is running out and you no longer have time to accomplish all the things you want.
It must be because of my job
I have been working non stop since 12 years ago
A break may mean well for me, but I get equally uneasy without income
And my birthday at the same time, is like a time bomb, telling me my 30 is near
I couldn’t stop thinking about it!!!!
I don’t want to grow older ㅠㅠ

On a lighter note,  I dreamt of myself attending a concert last night
Super Junior was next up on stage
Somehow, Yesung was walking right past me to get to the stage
I murmured 화이팅 under my breath but I guess he didn’t catch it
Everything was in slow motion then, him walking past me, and me thinking what to do

The result of confirmed SM Town in Singapore at Marina Bay Floating Platform
It is true, they are coming on 23 November 2012!
I’m so determined to get mosh pit tickets
Only 5000 tickets available out of 18,000 tickets
    Gosh…전쟁이야!!!!!

  • Sukira Kiss the Radio Update

I haven’t heard Sukira live for such a long time
The last time I did, I was still standing outside the open studio in person

    Come to think of it
I always happen to be in Seoul on important days
And there is always something special going on

The first time I was there
There were rumours of Leeteuk and Eunhyuk leaving KTR
That was the day where RyeoMin DJ were guests for EunTeuk DJs
I could hardly hear what was going in the studio
    It was total chaos outside
I brought back so much bruises and scratches by the end of the day
    The power of ELF!

The second time I was there
It was Wookie’s birthday and fans were squeezy washy outside the studio too
On a side note, Ryeowook doesn’t seem like he was in a fantastic mood that day
He mentioned he just had facial that day, so he was on mask most of the time

Anyway all these memories are good memories still!
Sukira just uploaded a new batch of photos of Wookie boy yesterday

    Enjoy~
